As part of our Meet the Industry week we'll be hosting a variety of talks and workshops with industry professionals and University staff. These talks will be a chance for students to gain insight into the creative industries, ask questions and get some expert tips!
On Tuesday 21st March, Buzzfeed illustrator Rebecca Hendin will be sharing her experiences and will talk to students about her career journey, showing projects and sharing knowledge picked up along the way. This talk is free and open to all students.
Rebecca Hendin is an illustrator, cartoonist, designer, artist and animator. She is a full-time in-house illustrator and designer for BuzzFeed, working from BuzzFeed's London office. Her political cartoons are syndicated by Universal Uclick, and she previously wrote and cartooned a weekly editorial at Daily Kos. Her work has won various awards, including the 2015 World Illustration Awards for New Talent in Editorial Illustration, and her cartoon work is part of the Newseum's collection in Washington, DC. Freelance clients have included BBC, Foyles Bookshop, Dance Umbrella, VICE, Politico, Passing Clouds, Island Records, WPP, Estee Lauder, Co-op, STRIKE! Magazine, Eurostar, and many bands (Molotov Jukebox, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Lower Than Atlantis, The Lines) and private clients. Her illustrations have been featured in publications including The Washington Post, The Economist, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Metro, Grazia, and more.
