10 Things That Happened This Term
TERM 1 COMPLETED ✅ Whoooo!
Let's reflect back on this EPIC term and let us tell you just some of the incredible things that's happened...
1. MDXSU Signed on 6,144 new Student Society members
What do you mean you're not member of one our 90+ Student Group/ Societies???!!!

2. The Relaunch of POW! Media
POW! Media revamped their studios and brought in new state of the art equipment!
With now over 100 MDX students trained and producing over 20 radio shows, a magazine and a TV Show!
3. Paid Placements 💸
224 MDX Students applied for the 72 Placements roles, helping 19 local businesses & communities with roles still available and more in the new year.
Did I mention they're PAID roles paying the London Living Wage!
4. We went after your Rogue Landlords 😤

Tashan Bahar bravely told her nightmare housing story that many MDX students have to face everyday.
Vice President, Joe Cox, challenged the Deputy Mayor of Housing to banning Rogue Landlords 😡
5. Refugees Welcome!
Your Vice Presidents, Raquel Marques & Joe Cox fought hard to get fee waivers 3 Syrian Refugees to study at MDX.

6. Why should I pay for those bloody tampons?
Yes, women get periods...get over it!
And why should women pay for sanitary products?
Your Vice President, Erica Ramos petitioned for FREE Sanitary products on-campus, giving away loads of free tampons & pads to students & staff #FreePeriods
7. Welfare & Wellbeing
It's clear that Mental Health is a real issue for MDX students.
Erica & Raquel campaigned to bring awareness at the 'Welfare' Ground, AAAAANNND;
- Persuaded the University Support Service to introduce 1 hour drop-in coucelling sessions every day
- Persuaded the University Support Service to employ more trainers
- Extended the duration of the Support Service drop-in councelling session
- Launched SOS: Stresses Out Students to provide support via alternative stress relivers
8. MDXSU had over 100 events
We know how to throw one hell of a party 😉

Oh yeah, and 3 sold out House Party events.
9. MDXSU supported over 250 advice cases
If you don't know about MDXSU's advice service...Get to know.
Because you might need it, and we can help guide you through the process.
10. 439 Student Voice Leaders Elected!
This means we're getting closer to having a representative for every course. Meaning, you have the power to get your voice heard and make a change on the changes you want to see on your course!
