This is a call for entries for a new exhibition, The Equality of Art, taking place in the Grove in February 2017.
The exhibition is a response to the lack of female artists being displayed in galleries around the world, inspired by The Guerrilla Girls’ show at the Whitechapel Gallery, 'Is it even worse in Europe?'
More importantly, it’s a chance for students to show what they passionately believe in, through art!
We are looking for art and design pieces on the subject of equality. This could be as simple as a striking portrait of a strong female, or as complex as an intricate architectural model of a completely accessible building. Entries are open now.
In order to submit artwork to this exhibition, the work must appear to be a finished piece, ready for display. We are able to hang work on the wall, provide plinths, and leave space for free standing work. Any other display materials will need to be provided by the artist.
To enter your work into this exhibition, please email an image or video of your entry to Z.Ranford@mdx.ac.uk with a brief description of the piece and information on how it would be displayed. Deadline for entries is midnight 12th February 2017
The exhibition will run Monday 27th February – Friday 3rd March 2017 in the Atrium, Grove Building. All successful entrants will be invited to the private view along with two guest tickets.
