With Halloween and our Haunted MDX House Party just around the corner, we thought we'd share some of our favourite Halloween fancy dress ideas for 2015.
From the ultimates in creepy classics to the brand new and bizarre, we've got it all covered. They're DIY-friendly too, so you've got no excuse for lacklustre dress up this halloween! In no particular order, let's begin...
1. Snapchat Vomiting Rainbow
Let's start on a lighter note: creepy but hilarious, this epic costume is a lot easier than you’d think! Whilst not the scariest we’ve seen, it’s definitely one of our favourites. Want to follow the rainbow? Follow this handy DIY guide.
2. Stitched Up
Although not a full costume as such, this simple idea is a creative way of adding a touch of terror to any outfit. And if you don't want to talk to someone? Perfect excuse...
3. The Sims
Remember the hours spent building dream homes, motherlode-ing your way to billionaire status, and discovering ever-more creative ways of sending your Sims to the grave? Chances are there'll be a Grim Reaper or two at MDX House this Thursday - best avoided if you're going for a Sims-inspired outfit.
4. Scary Clown
Really want to terrify your friends? As in peeing-themselves levels of fear? The scary clown is not only one of creepiest costume choices you can go for, but also a pretty cheap (if not cheerful) option too.
5. Ventriloquist Dummy
Like clowns, ventriloquist's puppets are considered by some to be entertaining. Like clowns - no. Grab yourself a shirt and a bowtie, stick on some face paint and voila! Halloween ready.
6. Two Faced
This probably wins the award for the trippiest costume on our list. Imagine the look on your friend's faces when you're dressed all casual, they judge you for your lack of effort, then BOOM turn around and witness the horror and confusion playing out on their faces.
7. Human Emojis
We've been spoiled by loads of new emojis in the past few months, but sometimes you can't beat a classic - especially when it happens to be a Mr. Whippy-shaped pile of poop with massive eyes and a beaming grin (no nose obv). Other emoji outfits encouraged.
8. Zombie
An oldie but a goodie, and totally DIY-friendly too. Get out that smokey-eye kit and give yourself a morbid makeover.
9. Beheaded
As students, you know the best way to succeed is to stay a-head of schedule... Should you end up with your head in your hands, at least it'll make a good Halloween cossie.
10. The Grady Twins
Heeeeeeeeeeeere’s a great costume! Whether you've managed to make it to the end of The Shining or not, you can't help but be creeped out by this particularly terrifying twosome.
Feeling inspired? Whether you take inspiration from our top ten or you've got an idea of your own up your sleeve, it's time to start planning your costume! Remember that there's a prize in store for the best fancy dress at the Haunted MDX House Party on Thursday - the more creative the better.
