MDXSU Vice President Erica Ramos has been elected as NUS National Executive Officer for International Students.
This means that in the next academic year, Erica will play a key role in representing and supporting 425,000 international students in the UK.
Erica's elected position within the National Union of Students (NUS) makes her the second most senior representative of international students in the country, working closely with Yinbo Yu, the full-time NUS International Students' Officer.
"There are almost half a million international students across the UK, and effective representation of these students is vital, especially in the current Brexit climate. International students play an important role in the country's economy, and this is the time they need the most support. I am absolutely honoured to have been elected to such an important role, and I am also thrilled to be representing Middlesex Students' Union nationally - especially because MDX is known for being such an international university."
As a member of the National Executive Council (NEC) - a senior committee within the National Union of Students' - Erica will work alongside the NUS President and Vice Presidents and other elected student representatives to direct NUS policy and represent Middlesex University students on a national level.
