Thursday 15-12-2022 - 16:37

Middlesex Students' Union will be closed between 19th December 2022 and will reopen on Monday 9th January 2023, when all our services will begin to operate again.

During this closure period, if you are a Middlesex student, you can access self-help advice online at https://unihub.mdx.ac.uk/support which may answer your query, or if you are in a crisis or emergency situation, click here for relevant support services. Please also read the support guide for the winter break.

Here are other organisations who may also be able to support you during this period:

• For housing enquiries, advice and support, you can contact Shelter via phone, web chat and also through their online resources. They are open on weekdays, weekends, and over the Christmas holidays.

The Citizen’s Advice Bureau can help with a wide range of matters including benefits, money, work, housing and immigration. They have a variety of contact options from the phone, live chat and in-person centers

The Samaritans is a telephone, email and visitor service for anyone who needs a space to talk and they have a 24-hour confidential listening service.

Papyrus Hopeline UK is a confidential helpline for young people dealing with suicide, depression and emotional distress. If you are having thoughts of suicide or are concerned for someone who might be you can contact HOPELINEUK for confidential support and practical advice.

Shout offers support in a crisis, for example, if someone is feeling suicidal, at risk of self-harm, abuse or experiencing relationship issues. Text SHOUT to 85258 to start a confidential conversation via text

• In a life-threatening emergency, or if you are actively suicidal call 999 immediately or go to your nearest Hospital Accident and Emergency dept.
