Student Media Rebrand
We are very excited to announce a rebrand of our student media groups, following research earlier in the year in which we asked Middlesex students what you wanted to see in your student media. When we asked for ideas for student media brand names, more than 50% of all suggestions that students gave included the letters MDX. This suggests that there is a real sense of pride in Middlesex University among our student community, and we decided that it was important to embrace that sense of belonging as we set out to be the authentic student voice of the Middlesex experience and identity.
With that in mind, please allow us to introduce MDX Student Media! MDX Student Media is your platform to entertain, educate and inform thousands of MDX students about the stories that matter. We are a supportive and friendly team who work together to start interesting and engaging conversations about the campus and community issues that MDX students care about.
Within MDX Student Media, our three platforms are MDX FM, where you can record podcasts or livestream a radio show from our dedicated studio, MDX TV, where you can direct, produce, edit and star in a range of exciting video content, and MDX Mag, where we publish original writing by students in a variety of styles, including news articles, reviews, opinion pieces, and creative writing.
With our new names also come some exciting new logos, created in collaboration with our current MDX Student Media leaders!
How can I get involved in MDX Student Media?
Whether you’re seeking a career in the media, want to develop your skills or want an outlet for your creativity, getting involved in your student media is a great way to showcase your talents and express your views. All Middlesex University students are welcome to contribute, regardless of your time commitment or experience. You can join the MDX Student Media team by signing up as a member on the dedicated student groups pages of our website, which you can find here.
No media experience is needed to get involved. We offer training, workshops and the support you need to create your own engaging content, share your personal stories and amplify the MDX student voice. As a contributor, you will have access to specialist equipment and our media studio, and there are further opportunities to take part in media events, conferences, and awards.
What is going on in MDX Student Media this year?
MDX Student Media is kicking off the new academic year with a series of introductory events for new and returning Middlesex students. Click on the links below for more information and to register for your free tickets.
All events are planned to take place on campus, in the MDX Student Media Suite in the basement of MDX House at Middlesex University, Hendon.
