Join the MDX filmmaking team behind Community Barnet Plus’ Barnet’s Windrush Stories, to view the short film screenings of both Ingrid and Linette’s personal stories. Our guests will speak as part of a panel discussion to follow the screenings about Reclaiming Narratives: The Inspiring Theme for Black History Month 2024.
About the interviews:
Ingrid reflects on her background from Barbados, known as little England to the real experience of the big smoke of London and talks about her horror of low wages, bitter-sweet joy of fast cars and deadly mistrust.
Linette recalls the thinly veiled battle of gaining British citizenship, contributing her career to the National Health Service and the juxtaposition of her family members separated by sea.
The screenings will additionally be available for personal viewing on headsets via looping video in the Rickett Quadrangle from 12:00-15:00 on 22nd October 2024.
