Do you pay too much on rent?
Are you in bad living conditions?
Do you have a rogue landlord?
The UK is facing a serious and urgent crisis! High rent forces Middlesex students:
- To choose between paying rent and buying food
- Meaning thousands can't afford to live independently.
- To live in expensive homes that are not fit for human habitation.
- On top of all this, students are being threatened with eviction by rogue landlords if they complain.
This has got to change! You've told us your stories. Now it's time to make your voices heard by those in power.
Back in 2016 Mayor of London Sadiq Khan made some promises. On 15th November 2017 we have the chance to stand up and be heard by the Deputy Mayor for Housing James Murray. Middlesex students will be standing up on stage to make him listen to our housing concerns and make him pledge to make the changes we need to see to stop the housing crisis.
Want to get involved?
Attend the Deputy Mayor of Housing Assembly.
We will be meeting Wednesday 15th November at 5.30pm outside MDX House to travel together to the venue.
Alternatively, if you are making your own way there, the event starts at 6.30pm at Oasis Centre, 1 Kennington Road, SE1. You can get the Northern Line (Charing Cross branch) to Waterloo and walk, or change onto the Bakerloo line at Waterloo and get off at Lambeth North - the venue is directly opposite Lambeth North Station.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be heard by some of the most powerful people in the UK, and we become just as powerful when we stand together.
