WHAT IS AN ACL?
Academic Community Leaders (ACLs) play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive and thriving academic community within a faculty. Through their initiatives, ACLs create spaces where students feel valued, connected, and supported in their academic journey. By attending regular meetings with faculty leaders, ACLs voice the concerns and aspirations of the student body, serving as advocates for student needs
WHAT IS REQUIRED IN THE ROLE?
The role of an ACL is a flexible, part-time position. The main responsibilities of an ACL are building a strong student community, supporting student voices, and championing positive change. ACLs attend regular meetings with faculty leaders, lead events promoting the student community, and encourage engagement in academic societies and student voice initiatives. This role offers opportunities for personal and professional development, and successful completion of termly tasks is rewarded with two £250 stipends.

TRAINING
Academic Community Leaders are fully supported and trained by the MDXSU Student Leadership Team. The training gives a detailed overview and expectations in the role and gives you all the necessary information to become a successful ACL.
